wholesome nutrition, health and wellness prescription - let us help you achieve your health and wellness goals

Get ready for your wholesome health & wellness prescription!

We specialize in a wholesome foods, nutrient-dense approach to nutrition habits that can be sustained for the long term.

We can help you identify the gaps  or areas in your nutrition  or lifestyle that need to be addressed to help you get to where you want to be.  Finding it difficult to lose that excess body fat? Feeling drained of energy during many of your workouts? Have a mild, nagging skin condition or consistent inflammation of your joints that doesn’t seem to go away?  Preparing for a sport or competition and looking to get stronger while staying lean?

We’ll work one-on-one with you to understand your current lifestyle, background, exercise and activity level, daily habits and food choices to tailor a nutritional and lifestyle plan that is right for you.

At Grassfed Farmacy, we are committed to helping you achieve the healthy lifestyle you want to live.

Our goals are:
  1.  To provide you with knowledge on how to make the best decisions of what types of foods to eat – we’ll help you understand the food that works best with your body’s needs (and that works with your schedule, lifestyle, and activity level).  We’ll help you change your approach to nutrition and way of thinking about food.
  2. To help you achieve your health, wellness and fitness goals, not just for the short term, but for the long term!  We’re not just going to give you a quick fad diet that is temporary…because you probably want something that you can keep up in the long run, right?
  3. To help you break down your larger goals into  smaller goals along the way that you  can achieve little by little to get you to were you want to be. We want you to see progress and results, and we want you to be able to form (and maintain) the habits and lifestyle changes you want.   Sometimes, the goals you want to achieve might seem very overwhelming or so far away, and it’s easy to want to find the quick solutions and quick fixes. We’ll be honest…we’re less focused on you achieving the “instant” results (although you may depending on where your starting place is!)   We want you to also  develop long term and sustainable   habits  that make you feel truly wholesome and fulfilled…to develop a  lifestyle that you’re proud of!
  4. To be the coach that you are looking for to keep you on track, hold you accountable and keep you motivated day-after-day and week-after-week. We’re not just going to give you a plan on day one and let you off on your own to figure it out…we’ll check in with you constantly to answer any of your needs or questions and to track your progress and modify your goals when needed.

We get a lot of people who think that in order to “lose weight” or to “gain muscle mass,”  that they just need to eat less (or more) of the foods they are already eating. But what happens when you feel drained of energy, or still feel bloated and flabby, or you hit a plateau  in your body composition goals? Chances are, you might need to address the *types* of foods that you’re eating…the quality instead of quantity.

Our approach to nutrition is simple: eliminate any foods that don’t work well with your body and that don’t provide adequate amounts of macronutrients and micronutrients your body needs to function at its best. We promote a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and healthy fats that are nutrient-dense, wholesome, non-processed and unrefined (and hopefully organic and sustainable when possible).

What are some of the foods we might ask you to eliminate OR CONSIDER MINIMIZING IN YOUR DIET?

To name a few:  gluten; bread; wheat; pasta; dairy;  soy; refined vegetable or seed oils; excess or added sugars; alcohol; some starches such as potatoes, rice, or oats; some FODMAP vegetables that might cause digestive  issues or bloating.

You might say, “wait, I thought some of the above foods were actually healthy, such as whole grains, or soy, or yogurt?” Well, yes and no, and we’ll help you understand why.

Our approach to nutrition might seem a bit unconventional compared to what you might have learned or read about with the USDA…but when it comes down to it, we want you to eat the foods that give you the most bang for your buck, and fit with the nature of who you are as a human being.  Forget the powders, the pills, the drugs, the supplements and the processed, superficial  marketed items, because those seem unnatural, don’t they?

We’re here to promote eating the foods that we, as humans, were meant to eat to provide us the energy to live our lifestyle day-to-day…wholesome, non-processed, nutrient-dense nutrition.

On top of that though,  each person reacts to foods different based on his or her genetic composition, surrounding environment and adaptations. We’re here to help you transition into nutrition that is compatible with you and that works for the goals that you want for both short term and long term. We can help you discover the nutrition that affects your autoimmune issues, or whether or not you should adjust your intake of FODMAP or goitrogenic foods. Don’t know what those are? All the more reason to talk to us.

Let Nutrition Be Thy Medicine and Medicine be Thy Food

Why Grassfed Farmacy? Why not my Primary Care Physician or Registered Dietician?
